Popped oil breather, 1986 (I think)... at any rate the year Rick Brickert went on to win in Dreadnought after Skip finally pulled out in Stiletto after much urging from Mistah Hoovah. I really wonder if there was enough oil left in there that he could have finished the race and won without seizing up the engine. If I remember the story correctly they just put the breather back on, filled it with oil, and flew home on that same engine.

Re: Stiletto Smokin'
I was standing in the pits in front of Stilleto when Mr. Z inspected the plugs from the engine, he was wearing his shorts and long white Machinists style coat, I believe his words were something like this, "look at that, these plugs are clean there is nothing wrong with this engine" and just shook his head! Is this the same year Stilleto lost the rudder trim tab?
