Took me awhile to find the Aces Supper Club in Roseville (the one with the replica P-51 on the roof), but that was partially due to the fact that it actually has a Sacramento address
Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but I just discovered the solution to an unanswered question...

Correct about Mr. Rutan. It's a Scaled Composites aircraft called the Advanced Technology Tactical Transport. I just ran across it by accident. Here's a link to this unusual aircraft's webpage:
Is that pic from Edwards? If so the funky looking plane could be known as a Protius (sp). I think thats what its called. I saw it there back in 99 when I was at the airshow there. I wish I had a scanner so I could post my film picture of it. Its a strange looking creature.
Google Earth won't run on my PC (possible video card issue). When I Google map the Aces Supperclub I don't see anything near the address that resembles a P-51 from above. The address listed points to the parking lot of what looks like a commercial building. Oh well...
ADe Johnson is right! It's the last version ('Bronco' -tail) Mr.Rutan pushed out! The PT6's have been pulled and the props are, rather crudely, held on by pipes in either boom. It used to have two, independent, empennages, but, they had better short-field performance with the revised tail! One of the cool things about composite construction! The large jet to the south is the second C-141 built. It was modified to fly F-15 avionics back in the day (hence the 'pointy'-nose)! The reddish B(A?)-26 is the Calspan Variable Stability (take-off handling like a T-38, land like a C-5!!) aircraft. The greyish A-7 is one of two 'Supersonic SLUFs'.
They put a P&W F100 in it! The other one is in Ohio, I think. The white
F-111 is NASA's AFTI/DASH program jet (early 'wing-warping' tests).
Eddie's Airplane Patch-Birthplace of the "Sonic Boom".......and I'm reminded every friggin' day!

No, I too considered the Proteus, until I noticed the OV-10 style tailfeathers while looking at the ground shadow of the aircraft.
Click the link at the bottom of my last post to see a photo of the ATTT at the Scaled website.
Also, if you click the PROJECTS link while you are there, you will see photos of the Proteus and the ATTT for comparison reasons.

The P-51 was still mounted on the roof of a simulated control tower when the Google Earth photos were taken (which was something like 3-6 years ago). I looked at the pictures offered by Google Maps and they're identical.
The replica Mustang is here (see photo). The restaurant is located right next to the freeway:
The replica P51 Mustang was at the Holiday Inn in Sacramento near Hwy 80 & Madison Ave. It was made out of block stirofoam and other materials. I think weather damage was a factor in bringing it down. It is broke down into pieces and stored behind the hotel (near the freeway).
Can anyone tell me what the airplane located at 38deg 22'36.47N 120 deg 47'47.16W is? it is swept wing and looks outta place on the ramp amongst cessnas and pipers

It is an F86. Just talked to a tenant up there and he said that the airplane was brought in to cleaned up and mounted on a pedestal at the airport entrance. Originally it was to be painted Navy Blue. Its been sitting there for the last 5 or 6 years, minus an engine and other stuff. Work party is supposed to reevaluate the situation this weekend.

That would be "JET Chevrolet, just off the freeway in Federal Way". But the MiG isn't there anymore. Griffonsrule just told me the other day that the plane had been sold to a party who wanted to make it airworthy and a 'flier'.
