Speed, Which came first, the black paint on the P-38, or on Foxy Lady? This is not a quizz, I don't know. Who inspired whom? Peas

Foxy Lady was years before Levitz' P-38. I think the only year Double Trouble showed up black was in 83. Before that it was either grey or bare metal.
Foxy Lady was black in 74 or 75 I think.

As requested, photo of Miss Foxy Lady, not the best quality as it was scanned from a Agfachrome slide. ID is N70QF, 44-74502, taken at
Reno on 12 Sep 1974 by Richard W. Ditty. I also have a couple of slide of it in white markings if interested. John Kerr

Became John Crocker's "Sumthin Else" after Burnsteins death. Sold after Crocker's death, I know it's been restored stock now but can't remember the new name! Old age.
There is a photo of it in the 1973 Air Classics coverage of Reno (the year Burnstein won in Miss Suzy Q) showing it stock claiming Ken had bought it with the intention of going racing seriously.

                              Thanks, Jim.
It said they had been flying formation? What was the occasion?
I was living in Seattle at thetime, but don't remember it.

What, you can't remember what was going on in Seattle on 7/14/90? Heh, heh, heh...Maybe it was just two warbirds in the air at the same time.
