Re: V-22 sighted at Moriarty, NM
They are either getting more of them, or really getting around right now! Got a call earlier from "BeachBoss" who was waiting for a flight at PDX and saw one running up over at the ANG base.
I've yet to see one in person.. pretty interesting airplane.

They have formation lights on the ROTOR TIPS! So, wait for the dark and you'll see these great big dull green circles!!! (At least the AF variant.....)Eddie's Airplane Patch-Birthplace of the "Sonic Boom".......and I'm reminded every friggin' day!

Re: V-22 sighted at Moriarty, NM
I got inside one when they were on det to China lake a few years ago. VERY complicated machines. The whole wing/nacell/blade system is a marvel of engineering........but a PITA for the mechanics according to the Gunny I talked to.Rob
Merlins are cool
But Radials rule!
And jets just make noise

YES!!!! especially when his/her Marines were involved
No, in all seriousness, I saw that monster with the covers off the nacells
It's a great aircraft....and it'll be around awhile. I just wouldn't want to work on or fly in it. Especially if sombody was shooting at it.Rob

Re: V-22 sighted at Moriarty, NM
I haven't had the pleasure of seeing a V-22 yet either, but I did get to see one of the the XV-15's flying over Ames several times, usually follwed by a NASA chase 'copter. They also flew it during several Moffett Field airshows in the 80's.
