Remember that buying a motor like that sight unseen is really taking a BIG chance. Are the heads and banks badly corroded? How is the valve train? Any issues with the rods and/or crank? In addition, the blower and wheelcase will be useless for a Mustang because they are single-stage, so unless someone has use for a single-stage blower (early Spitfire, Hurricane, Mosquito, etc.), those components are not especially valuable. Even at $10,000, any motor that age is a potential pig-in-a-poke.

This is a early motor. It is a great piece of history.
Unless you have an early war British warbird and you want the original series of Merlin in it you will have something akin to putting an engine from a '35 chevy in your Viper.
The heads and banks appear to be one piece instead of 2 pieces.
As you know many advances in virtually all parts were made through the course of production. An early motor would be useless in racing.
It is cool from a historical point. I saw it sold for 32k.
