Nobody hurt, and the airplane's not that bad at all -- sand is fairly kind to airplanes -- compared to trees and telephone poles and such.

Engine went BOOM and started smoking.

Smoking is bad for you.

If you are a round engine.

Smoking is bad if your flat engined, v-engined, centrifugal bumble puppy engined, new 'suck-n-blows',etc....only good in G-model BUFFs, older Tankers and F-4s....

Just watched the video. Wow, you got that right Steve! The caption on the video says "Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Oxnard Beach" and the anchorperson refers to it as a "gigantic airplane."
