Was the Bearcat owned by Herlihy by then? I was basing it on a AC article on it when it was owned by Gury but that was a couple years earlier. I do remember Harris' corsair, Herlihy's "This is It" and a Sea fury in a hanger at Half Moon Bay in 79. That was the weekend I got a ride in Ron Reed's T-6 there and lost my girlfriend, as I spent all our date money on T-6 gas and she just did'nt understand...
In the late 70's the Travis Air Expo was visited by most of the West coast warbirds and always great. Ya had to sneak in early and stay until they kicked you out to see any flying but nice.

Yes he raced it at Reno in 1978 and 1979 not sure who is part ner was but he would bring both the Mustang and Bear cat to airshows and he would have someone else fly the bear cat Shawn

Boy Leo, where the hell did you come up with those old pix? Lookit all the hair I got. Lookit how thin I was. Was helping Camp clean up not so clean points on that goofy Bendix mag. Can see my old T-6 before I rebuilt it next to the Mustang. Still was marked in Corry Field colors with green bands. Thanks.

I've got a few of your T-6 also Steve.
We were a group of high school kids that went out to the old Vaca-Dixon airport to see your's and Earl's planes. You removed the covers for us, took a LOT of pix. I still think one of the prettiest T-6's ever.
I've got boxes of faded shots from that time period. Gonna dig some more...

Thanks Leo. That was a very long time ago when Earl & I kept the slugs at Vaca-Dixon. Rather a challenging strip to say the least. Only had 16-1800 ft useable.
