The sixth pic is "Jumpin Jaques". The one in Europe is another airplane. This one is at the San Diego Aerospace museum painted in Red Tail colors.

Wow, that's what I thought at first... but then I couldn't find any pictures of CD with RAF roundels. I've found CD as 'Miss Florida' with matching rudder paint, but still no roundels... references to Mr. Leeward's affinity for annual paint changes, though, so I guess it all adds up.

My wife and I are newbs to the races (5 yrs), and we quickly became enamored with Cloud Dancer last year... we cheered Jimmy all week and were saddened by Sunday's prestart RTB... It makes me grin real, real wide to think my dad snapped a photo of her 28 or so years earlier! Cool stuff...

I think that photo is right after the movie.

Bill Speer got the paperwork for N51U, but I really doubt it was rebuilt. Enhorning's airplane was destroyed.

The first batch of photos shows these a/c.
            1. Jerry Miles "Sunshine". Actually 44-73423 ex- N5465V. This a/c changed serial and N# more often than any other 51. Later sold to ex- footballer Wayne Meylan who crashed fatally in 1987.
            2. George Enhoerning "Passion Wagon". Crashed fatally on the east coast in 1990. Paperwork used by Bill Speer for "Deja Vu" which he in turn got killed in.
            3. Bill Ross "Gabelschwantz Teufel". Now with Tom Blair.
            4. Howard Pardue's F4U-5 N65WF. Currently with Jim Smith in Montana.
            5. Jack Venaleck's N51JV. Later with Ed Shipley, and now with a Mike Henningsen.
            6. Mustang duo is Jimmie Hunt in N5551D and Hess Bomverger in N6320T. Hunt's a/c is in the San Diego Aerospace Museum and N6320T was rebuilt as a TF for Bob Jepson. Later sold.
