Just calculated that with fuel costs such as they are and with only myself going this year (BeerNazi decided she wanted to be a Real Estate Agent and has school... *snif* CF2... got a smilie for this one?) driving my big ol' Chevy 4X4 aint gonna cut it! Minimum fuel cost would be nearly $300. at best! GAAAA!
Total NS flight on Southwest with tax comes to $150. from PDX to RNO... other than the hassle of not being able to have the vehicle there, carrying everything I want to (including lawn chairs, case of water, etc, etc.. all the junk per usual.. EVEN with rental car expenses, I can shave, at least one day hotel off by flying so it's cheaper by, at least, $100.!
Amazing... they have finally priced gas to the point that I'm driving less...
Anyway.. Back to the point..
Who is going?
The Reno Air Race Association's Pylon Racing School is one of the finest learning experiences for warbird (or any) pilots and usually holds quite a bit of information and camaraderie for us fan types.
As always, it requires of all of us a bit of discipline, it's a school and we get to watch.. cool!
I'll be flying in on the 12th, leaving on the evening of the 16th..
Anyone else?
