Listening to 51 finely tuned Rolls Royce Merlin engines flying over head.............................................. ...................................
PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yea......I'll be there.

Jeezus Daver.. that's strictly a POS of an airfare!! If Jimmy ain't goin, let's share. hell.. three on a match??? Whoooohoooo... don't drop the soap!!!!!!!
I'd like to put in a request that you shoot a nice panorama of the formation flight. I figure your camera can probably shoot a zillion frames a second! I've been torn on whether to concentrate on getting good stills or good video - I'm sure my hands will be shaking (I'm a P-51 fanatic - see avatar).
I booked a room at the Baymont@Rickenbacker the instant they would allow it last October (I know...geeky & paranoid). They doubled the rate for the event but you could get a group rate of $149/night. In case they "lose" the reservation I also booked a room at the Comfort Inn a couple of miles away (really paranoid).
Air fare to Columbus, OH...............................$450.00
Cost to stay at a fleabag hotel.......................$300.00
Rental car............................................... ...$129.00

I wouldn't blame Vic a damn bit for not taking a camera. It will be a once in a lifetime experience. Why mess it up by seeing it all through a viewfinder only. That is a show to enjoy with both eyes wide open
I tend to agree - most every great aviation event I've ever been to, including Reno, I saw through a camera (incl. video) just so I could re-live it later. I'm still trusting that the Stallion 51 folks will have someone there to document the event in hi-def.

Ahhh... we have seen our future and I think it are us!
Can anyone with knowledge of the area tell me where a RV can find a place to park. According to the website, the recommended campground is over 25+ miles away.
hmmmm maybe one of the owners needs a support vehicle on site with an airconditioner
