Have a look here if you have not already:

Home of the Sport Class that races during the annual Reno Air Races held in Reno Nevada.

Notice the sport class has one of the best (and only) class websites. Rules can be found under "Information".

            Re: More power always better?

I have searched the air race rules and this is what I got

"Super Sport shall consist of the fastest eight aircraft which are permitted up to 1000 cu. in., fuel from any truck on the flight line plus any additive including Nitrous Oxide, ADI without an alcohol percentage limit and the ability to bump down into the Sport Gold/Silver division if in compliance with the restrictions of those Sport categories."

Im just looking for some more info. For example do sport and super sport run together? Is the 5 kit rule still in effect? etc etc. I have sent an email to the president of the sport class but have yet to recieve a reply. Any info would be great.

            Thanks Steve

Should you choose to look beyond Sport, the T6 Racing Association also has a pretty good website at http://www.racingt-6.org/ .

Ha, I choose and regularly do. Yes T-6 (not my target) has a nice one as does F1 (not my target either). But where oh where is the Unlim Class (my target but not with malice)?

I have always though it a shame that there is not more of a class site for the Unlim. Now some will claim AAFO is the class site but I disagree. Did not mean to take the dictionary/thesaurus thread further off topic to a "who's website is bigger contest".

                Back on topic:

Thanks WJ Pearce. Ok so the 5 kit rule still applies. However this doesnt tell me if it will be its own class and race alone or whether it will race with the other sport a/c or what the whole deal is? Any insider info anyone?

I can answer that in October (wink). I don't know but I would imagine that the "Super Sport" will be the Sport Gold. I'll have a better idea in July.

Steve, have you ever been to the Air Races? Will you be there this year?

                              Re: More power always better?

W J Pearce. hahaha well october is a bit far off but that might be doable lol. From what I understand, they are eliminateing Sport Bronze. Then it will go Sport Silver, Sport Gold and Super Sport. Those a/c from Super Sport that qualify for Sport regs may/will be able to drop back to Sport Gold. Ive been reading everything I can find on it and thats what I understand. When I get home later on I will search for and post the link for you to read if you like.

As for me ever being to the air races, no. But Ive had the next best thing lol. I made my friend videotape every moment of it in....03? He even videotaped walking through the pits as much as he could. It was amazing over video! Unfortunately I lost the tape....well the VHS it was on got fell on by a drunk person .

As for me being at the races this year, no. I cannot afford it. I work like a dog and every penny I make goes towards a saving account for living expenses and the rest goes to trying to make my car competitive at the drag races. My cars funding is soon going to be drying up, Im making it plane funding. No more new parts on the car Ill stick with what Ive got. I wish I could be there soooo bad but I guess Ill have to wait another year {Ive said that the last 4 years}. My financial situation is never very stable around that time of year.

                              Thanks Steve
