Well, that is what they invented wide-angle lenses for, I suppose.

I spent great evening watching the Collings bombers tonight at Concord's Buchanan Field, all of 3 miles from home.

They flew over my house almost every flight, I will always get up off the couch to go watch a multi engined radial fly over. It was really nice, all the neighbor came out watching every flight as well..
The B-17 flew over like clockwork every thirty minutes. I went down to Buchanan and noted that the 17 would pull up in front of the terminal/hotel and offload and then reload passengers, while the engines sat idling...
From what I could tell the flights were usually from Buchanan thru Martinez (and mostly over the Shell Refinery) west thru the Carquinez Strait and out over Vallejo and maybe parts of the north Bay and then back up the river past Martinez and over the Mothball ships... on to PIttsburg and Antioch and the back down the river for a Straight In appraoch to Buchanan...Oh and all about 2500 Ft el.
Also noted was the smooth sound from these planes, none of them were hardly even pushing it...

Would have been exceptional if, somehow, an image of the Liberator was taken over the mentioned REFINERY..............hmmmm.........smokestack/

Got to hitch a ride on "Witchcraft" when TCF was here...absolutely one of the greatest things I have ever done in my lifetime.
