It is different that's for sure! I was a little uncomfortable when I first started using a version of this board at a forum I frequent daily but after about a day or two with it, I liked it a lot better than the old format. For one, I really like clicking the link on the upper right "view new messages" which keeps me from having to paw through all of the messages to see what has been posted.

I'm not sure how often that refreshes itself and marks new posts as read, I think it's not that long, if you are active on the site that is.

I can set the time interval to anything but if I set it to say, 24 hrs, then it shows you as on the board for that whole time down in the "who's on" feature.. We'll see what the best settings are for that one to keep it useful.
