Just to make you Kids feel Young Again, I Saw the ThunderBirds flying straightwing F-84's at Douglas AFB, which is now O'Hare Field in Chicago, AND the BlueAngels in F9F's at Glenview NAS. I'm TOO OLD to remember what year it was, though...D.

Probably the same year I saw them at Lincoln AFB NE. Can't come up with the exact year but it had to be prior to 195X.
Old f--t,I'm 75 & was at the Cleveland Air Races after WWII and saw the Blues flying Hellcats & later Bearcats & a famous Marine pilot LT.Gen. Marion Carl flew with them & for awhile he held the world speed record flying a Doulas Skystreak at Edwards AFB. Even then they raced jets both in the Bendix & Thompson Trophy. I forgot the rest I think.
