Hi,
I've been following this site for several years and decided to finally send a email and (hopefully) some photos. I've been attending the races since 1970 and haven't missed one since then. I also was lucky enough to end up on the pylons at two of the Mojave races in the mid 70's. I started out camping in a tent then moved up to Motel 6 then other motels then casinos, then condos in Tahoe then friends homes and now I'm staying in my camper in the pylon judge area. I'm a pylon judge on outer 6. I get the first pass of the sport class, the jets and unlimiteds on my pylon. I've got a fairly large collection of photos, super 8 movies and videos that go back to 1970. I've been following everyone for a while and decided to share some of my old (and new) pics. I met Victor this year out near the soon to be new Super Sport Pylon (where the lights were set up). My work doesn't compare to Victor, Neil, Shawn and others but it's fun to look at. I know most of you are like me in that Reno in September is like being a kid a Christmas time. The only thing that would keep me away from the races is a death in the family and it would have to be mine. I hope a few of these photos come through. I don't have a scanner that takes slides so these are shot directly from the screen so they are not very good quality. I'll try hanging a sheet and eventually have them scanned. I hope you enjoy some of these oldies which include Greenamyers Bearcat, the Human Fly, Lyle in the Bear (pre Rare Bear), and the Red Baron before the Griffon was installed. I've also got pics of it as RotoFinish. A couple of the photos were taken with IR film just to see what would happen so you'll be able to tell immediately. Hopefully they get attached.
Mike
