When I went into the Air Force in 1982, there was an F-82e on static display on the parade grounds at Lackland AFB in San Antonio Texas. I remember looking at that aircraft and thinking how cool it would be to see one fly. That was the one and only time I got to see one in person. What a cool airplane!

I went in on July 23. I was in the 322nd TS Flight #0092. From there I went to Lowry AFB in Denver Colo. All I remember about basic was the extreme heat, and marching on 3 inch cockroachs every morning! That place SUCKS in the middle of summer......

That's right, biggest roaches I ever saw. The humidity was still bad in October.
