"... if the Ghost has whatever Jack Roush put in Cloud Dancer last year ???"
Jack Roush didn't put squat in Cloud Dancer last year. That engine was built by Ricky Shanholtzer.

Sorry, but I've been deployed in Germany for the last two weeks, and don't get the joke.

              What's it all about?

One of the biplane racers picked up a milk sponsorship for Reno, I think.

Well, knowing Dasher, that's an appropriate sponsor

Hey, Speedy, as long as we're talking about obscure air racing humor.

I showed a guy over here in Germany that picture I posted a couple of weeks ago of the Hawk sitting on the pylon. (he was at the races last year) He smirked and asked me if the bird was a member of the Order of the Red Tailed Hawks, but he wouln't elaborate.

                      Wassup with that?

Unfortunately Dago will not be there this year. I talked to a member of the Dago crew in Marysville at the Fly-In and he said they blew two engines last year and because Dwight Thorne's stroke he was not sure if or when they will be able to return to Reno.

Check out the "Our First Cover" thread.

Speedy posted it there, what a great and funny story.

Not really trying to pick a nit, but I feel it necessary to set the record straight. First off, I'm not sure which crew the person you spoke to was a part of, but definitely not the Dago crew from 2006. Secondly, while I suppose you could say we "blew" the first race motor last year, the back-up race motor never even had the chance to fly and thus was in no way "blown up". We discovered problems during the break-in period (ground runs) which we deemed serious enough to shut down the program for the remainder of 2006. Lastly, although much of the technology Dwight developed factored into the 2006 race motors, Dwight himself was in no way involved in the racing program for 2006. Dwight was very much involved in the previous Dago racing programs from 1996 thru 2004, but not last year.

                              Thanks for listening.

I don't remember the guy's name but I was just passing on information he told me. It sounds as if I may have been duped by a guy in a "Dago Red Crew" polo shirt and hat! Sorry if I offended. I'd like to see Dago return and I'm glad that Mr. Thorne's technology wasn't the only "tricks" you guys have up your sleeves.

Hope to see you there in '08!
