On this mornings news, russia flew a few backfire bombers towards england, which of course intercepted the flight, that was the second penetration of british airspace in the last week or so.

I say...BRING BACK CHROME DOME!!!!! (Bomber crews will kill me for that!)

For those of you who don't know about Chrome Dome...My Dad did Chrome Domes for a long time. He would be gone for a day and a half, planning, preflight, 24 hour flight circling over Northern Canada and Alaska, postflight, and debrief. He was a BUFF pilot from 62-70. B-47's before that. Brings back fond memories of my childhood. Watching an alert in action, MITO with nuclear tipped BUFFS interspersed with an occasional 135.......all of the black smoke.........knowing my Dad was going to go blow up those nasty old Rooskies, (not any better now than they were then as far as I am concerned)........never really considering the fact living in Glasgow MT that I was going to have the honor and priveledge to be one of the first ones vaporized........ Aaaahhh, the innocence and ignorance of youth. Doesn't get much better than that I always say. I sure miss those days. Miss my dad too.

Yep, my bad kfbk in sac was calling them backfires, I saw on the commie news network that they wear bears.
