I'm going to stop by the RGJ on Monday on my way to the doctor and let them know just how we all feel about this in person. This is one of, if not the most important event in the area. And these people make it feel like everyone is doing them a favor by coming here.

If down town cant pack the casinos they dont care, its all about the rosy red butts in the seats for them to I suppose.

All too true. End the end, if the slots aren't being fed, they aint none too happy.

They have to pay for lights somehow.

I think that in the end, what we would call the big events don't feed the slots. The average air race fan doesn't come here hopping to hit Mega Bucks. They come here rooting for their favorite team, pilot, and or plane. Unless the local government changes how it views these important events, we (as in Norhern Nevada) are likely to lose them (being the big events).

And you can quote this (We are being courted.) Applies to most of the big events here.

I live here, and it would be devastating to loose even one of the big events. The air races bring people from all over the globe here, you used to annoy me, but now...getting to know you is the best part of all. I've met some of the best people lately and they are not from here...
