We are in the final stages of resolving the issues with the forums move to the new location. After talking with tech support, the only solution was to send him a copy of all the images. This will take time - but we know the fix SO it's only a matter of time now.
With out any one getting their slides rule out.... pls. esplain what tweeks need to be done... fuse, wings, washout , etc. when replacing the sleeve motoers with opposite prop rotation cyclones. only .10 cent words please
No big changes Bill. The Sea Fury has no offset in the vertical fin so it's not a factor. It requires a custom engine mount to adapt the American engine to the airframe. The stock Sea Fury used a firewall mounted accessory drive to run the air and hydraulic pumps, etc. This goes away as they are bolted directly to the new engine.

I did not know that! How come no offset in the design?

There is only about 85 lbs. difference in weight(the 3350 being heavier), so the Weight and Balance is no problem, and as for no offset to the tail, the rudder trim tab is more than adequate to handle the takeoff torque. Hawker had always built nice, large, stable, well-handling aircraft and by the time the Sea Fury was perfected, they had a great performing aircraft that was pleasant to handle, not squirrelly like some other fighters. At least, if left in stock configuration. With the availability of the Wright engines, spares and parts, it was a logical step to install a 3350 in lieu of the Centaurus. The sleeve valve engines must be a nightmare to work on, I imagine. For more info on the Sea Fury, there is a great book by Kev Darling, #37 in the WarbirdTech series of books - check it out.
