That was COOOOOOL!!! I didn't think I'd ever see that again. I remember watching it on TV with my dad and brother when it originally aired. I think it was "Wide World of Sports" or maybe "American Sportsman". Is the whole thing available somewhere? Man that brings back memories.

For anyone interested, i have the entire episode of "American Sportsman" on VHS (lots of milage on it) but it truely is a priceless piece of air racing history.

I can make copies to DVD (which is where the you tube footage was drawn from) for anyone interested for the price of postage.

It's just too good not to share with all you air race fans

I remember the sick feeling in my stomach when it disappeared below the edge of the runway. I was only 14 years old, but I knew the sound that it was making as it went by the stands the last time was very, very bad.
