Hey Bucky, What Sea Fury is that in the background behind Dago??? Your copyright says '03, is that right? Just curious...........
Photo date: Thurs. 9/15/83 - Behind Dago Red is Lloyd Hamilton's unpainted bare-metal R-4360 corncobbed Super Sea Fury Race #15 (N4434P) making its' debut at Reno. Entered as- 'Head Gorilla', to complement his stock Centaurus-powered Sea Fury- #16 Baby Gorilla (N588), Lloyd had the name- 'Havnaught' crudely painted on the cowling (a tongue-in-cheek spinoff of the plane's corncob SF rival- the Sanders family's #8 Dreadnought). #15 was unable to qualify for competition at Reno '83 due to engine problems. Of course, we know this big bad Hawker by its' more familiar name - 'FURIAS' (& anxiously await her return to Unlimited Class competition in the future). DBD
