Administrator: I beg your pardon for the long string of posts, but it´s the way I could use with my poor knowledge about sending files. Thank you.

Re: Signal Sea Fury (Miss Merced)
Unfortunately the files as scanned are pretty much unreadable. Too bad, as that article is about the best racing Sea Fury article I've ever seen and is not widely known on this side of the pond. It was written by an old friend of mine -- Bill Johnson of Seattle. It should be scanned as larger files with more contrast to be readable.
Great attempt, though -- you did a bunch of work here with all that scanning and all those posts...

I think it is better now. Save them, and after opening each page you can zoom it and at least they can be read. I really hope this be helpful to Michelle Carroll.
I want to mention that it´s only an accident that I have these photocopies, just only beause I´m an unlimited air racing fan.

Re: Signal Sea Fury (Miss Merced)
I've never posted images here before so this is a trial.
Here are photos of N878M when it wasn't so pretty but still very interesting (engine and prop wise at least).
Jim Mott brought N878M back to racing at Reno as "Super Chief" at the 1989 event and qualified 10th which was pretty good (7 mph higher than its last appearance at Reno in 1971) for any Bristol-engined Sea Fury.
1989 Qualified 10th 404.653
(There were engine problems, as I recall, and it didn't end up racing any in 1989.)
Jim never again could get the 400 mph+ race event speeds after this...
1990 Qualified 22nd 365.161
Heat 1-B 7th place: 337.605
Heat 2-C 6th place 341.807
Heat 3-C DNF Lap 2.
Bronze “319.956” credited speed but DNF Lap 6.
1991 did not qualify
Notes: Jim had “walked away” after an amazing crash of a T-6, I believe race #51. I can’t remember for sure, but Dale Clarke may have attempted to qualify race #42 as Jim’s substitute. I know Dale flew it one year a little bit.
1992 Qualified 23rd 348.915
Heat 1-C 3rd place 358.156
Heat 2-C 5th place: 339.687
Heat 3-C crossed deadline moved to last place 342.413
Bronze 3rd place 327.592
These photos are probably from each of the years above but I don't know which years are which without digging through the old magazines. I think the nice shot of #42 out on the line was taken by my friend Mike Reilly. He sent me some of his "extras" a couple of years, Maybe one or two of the others as well. My photography was not usually that good.
