Hi Wayne - BIG THANKS for posting this excellent press release tribute relating to the sad recent passing of Smithsonian NASM Director - Don Lopez. I had the honor & pleasure of meeting Don way back in November 1988, when I was a NASM guest presenter for the museum's GE-sponsored lecture series & Don introduced my program at the Langley Theater. Before the event, during dinner & cocktails, everyone got aquainted and we had some fun swapping flying anecdotes & Don shared some classics from his truly colorful past. He also noted his sincere great affection for- 'things Alaskan', which made me feel at home during my visit. What a classy guy, with a great sense of humor! NASM benefitted much through his tenure there. (His bio is great reading too). BLUE SKIES, indeed, Don Lopez! DBD
