I will buy a copy if for no other reason all the flying sequences. The story might be hokey to some, but it just might get a few new fans for air racing. Why not hold judgement until the FINAL cut is made.

Though i didnt see the preview, i have seen the trailer and can see that it's silly but it's not the story i'm looking for, it's the flying. If it makes it to the theater and makes a race fan out of anyone, could that not be considered a good thing?
Not sure if it was here or Scotty's site but the last i heard it was set for summer 08 release, as well, i think they were stocking it with more aerial footage......

For those of us who weren't at the sneak peek and are stuck overseas...any news?
Randy, as TOR_DP has said, from what I have been able to gather also, distribution deals are in progress, final edits, beyond the quickie that was shown at Reno, are also part of the mission.
Like Betty said though, even IF the actual movie were a dog, the aerials are good enough to make it a "must have" for one's DVD collection.
Just from personal observation of the showing at Reno, I was deeply impressed with the acting at the beginning of the movie.. honestly, the work between "father and son" (Butch and dad) was quite good... Honestly, beyond that, there were some "gaps" that made the rest of the edit, "not that good"...
Other than the action footage, which is priceless!
HOPEFULLY... in the end, this will, at least, be something we can rent on NetFlix... (at the very least!)
I just watched the movie . Yeah the acting is somewhat like an 80s porn movie which I was warned about . The flying sequences are pretty good . One thing that I found odd was the amount of planes that drop out in the race . Is it really such a battle of attrition ? Or is it more like normal car racing where the faster cars pull away ??
