You know what makes this fun, in the end we all have no idea. Going back to when i was a kid, the people who first took me to the air races were the Ice family and a man named little John. They always had bets going, you draw from a hat to get your plane (they were all bear sponsors so if they did it anyway else everyone would of picked the bear.)

Long story short, myself (10 or so at the time) and Clyde Ice (over 10 times my age) drew Dreadnought and figured we had zero chance. Bear breaks down, stang or two go down, and the oldest and youngest of the group split a few hundred bucks. Now I was heartbroke that Rare Bear did not win, but 100 bucks to a 10 year old was quite a consolation prize

I predict Wolfee will be in Reno Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!!!

I was out at the Watsonville Fly-in today and talked to Dan Martin. He told me he was going to Fly Dago this year. If the sale of Dago happens it will be in Oct so she is his to Fly this year at Reno

That sounds like confirmation to me. The original rumor was put forth by MustangsMustangs.com and filtered through Warbirdaeropress.

You just never know... case in point 2006. S.Fury won that one in qualifying.

Revised prediction: Rare Bear (new av. lap record)
Strega (edges out Dago on last lap)
Dago Red (sold to Mike Brown on Monday)

Also:

Team Steadfast will break 400mph and get around a couple Bearcats to win silver.

Six Cat will take back Gold from Midnight Miss III.

Specline Special will out-duel the T-2 in a race that will make a lot more jet race fans.

According to an article in "Pilot Journal" Rich retired after he won last year so I doubt the Buckeye will be back

I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but the Merlins just haven't been able to hold together in recent years at the required race power settings. And with Dan and Tiger applying "full-smash"!!!!

I'm going to predict that all the race merlins stay together this year. The win going to Race 4.

After last year, you can bet that Mr. Brown will be out for blood. We will see an epic duel between Sept. Fury, a massaged Rare Bear, and if it holds together, Dago Red and Dan Martin, who will be right in the middle of it all. Strega will be fast, but once again blows up. Unfortunately, G.G. and Wildfire will be no shows this year. Pediction goes like this: #1 Sept. Fury #2 Rare Bear #3 Dago Red #4 The "Buick" #5 Voodoo #6 Chech Mate #7 S.o.T. #8 Fury #9 Strega (breaks)

Most of you here will know that it's all about the 'Bear' for me.

On the other hand...has there been any news of September Fury?

I'm feeling the vibes that yes...we may indeed (cross my fingers and toes) see Dago Red this year.

Yes, I do care who wins, but in the end, just see all of the greats on the ramp...well...that would be priceless.

I'll go hit up Sherm for a case of Fighter Pilot Red in the next few weeks....it'll have a nice age on it by then....plus the seasoning is what makes Warlock so fast!!!.....shhhhhhh....don't tell no one....LOL
