What amazed me was the fact that NO ONE....still has said anything positive about this charity event. Only bewilderment about getting scooped, and not being the first to know etc. Thats what I'm amazed by.

Wayne...not singling you directly, but everyone who replied here implied they had a right to know instead of taking the high road, expressing gratitude at what is being done to further air racing and charity, and sending a PM, e-mail or whatever else needed to be done in private.

People get their panties in a bunch all the time over stupid stuff. You wonder why more teams aren't involved here? There is your answer.

BTW...sold the shop.... UAV pilot for the DoD now.

Oh geez... how is this stuff getting so out of hand? This sort of bickering, if anything does, is what would keep ANYONE from posting here.. racers and otherwise..

That said, we do have a pretty good turn out of racers here.. most lurk, some post..

As for the rest, I was GENUINELY surprised when I read Jim's announcement. More so because I was, as Cobra said, involved with the Vegas demo races since before the first one. Worked with Jim for all the years we had them down there.. Was IMMENSELY disappointed when they were dropped from the schedule...

How this thread got dragged to where it is now astounds me..

Hey Everyone!

We appreciate the responses to this thread and are extremely excited about this project. This post was in no way intended to “spite” any of our friends. This idea came to be at the Nellis performer’s party last year, and has taken many months of hard work and commitment to get it to this point.

The website was just completed yesterday, and we were pumped to share it with the aviation community. Before it could be released, we had to gain all the approvals from the charities and participating parties. So really, until yesterday, there wasn’t much that we could disclose.

The reason that we opened with the volunteer piece, is that we want everyone to be included who wants to be a part of this project. An event is only as good as the people that work together to make it a success. We have a major uphill battle in front of us to raise the funds, prepare the charity auction, and manage the event.

If anyone has any questions, we invite you to contact us anytime. For those that want to get involved, we’re honored to have you join the team and help us accomplish this rewarding experience. We hope this helps to clear up any misunderstandings, and that you’ll all join us in killing the local Vegas Grey Goose population in November!!!!
