Hey Wayne, NICE AVATAR! LMAO!!! (Ain't it the truth though........) Anyways, back to topic. I think we're in for a Bear, Sept. Fury, Dago showdown if all goes well. Just imagine, three different makes of aircraft (Grumman, Hawker, North American), two different engine makes (Wright, Rolls Royce), and of course the radial verses inline rivalry. Add Voodoo in the mix with a yet to be determined pilot ( calling Mr. Holm) the possibility of Strega and Tiger, and Dreadnaught keeping everybody honest, and it could be the makings of another awesome year.........

Just to correct wolfee,in 2005 ridge runner was running 2nd to rare bare in the final gold race when the engine melted down a piston.It was not a bearing problem,nor was the engine from strega.The engine was the one we started the week with and came up just about ten minutes to short.The airplane also had a clam shell door hanging in the brease a bit causing some drag.Ridge Runner is {was} the fastest super stocker.

Just to help MRE clarify, the prop we ran in 05' was from Strega on loan of course.

It's OK to say that we are running DAGO RED this year, you won't be getting any "phone calls". The sensitivity before was due to the "deal" not being finalized.

Thanks Eric! Got a "tip" a while back but bit my lip and didn't say anything... didn't know about the other mention of it elsewhere.. Just have a good memory and know how to keep my trap shut!

September Pops is also the name for Mike Brown's team. So technically, you were correct in some form. His other sea fury is of course September Pops and is the first Sea Fury that he ran. I wouldn't feel bad about it.

One of the greatest things I've ever been privledged to be a part of. Dan let it all hang out in the Gold Final, and was running lap speeds approaching 470 MPH with an airplane that doubles as a stock warbird. Like MRE said, we came up just a few minutes short, but it sure was fun while it lasted.

I've got it on video from the stands. The The greatest line in all the exclamations was "Holy &*^%, where did he come from?"
One of the truly great air racing moments seeing him stalking the Bear.

I was at Reno in 86' and all 3 were in the Gold race. Strega, Dago & Rare were 3rd, 4th, 5th respectivly, Dread and Furious were 1st & 2nd. Stiletto was leading in the beginning but dropped out. I have the video from the Fenceline posted on YouTube. Although the quality isn't great it is a Great race.

Agreed. Who is that up high? All I knew was I was damn lucky to be there that day (but I feel that way every Sunday at Reno). Thanks for posting wingman.
