Well, being Jewish I think I can make a Jewish joke if I want to. And if I offended you well I suppose I apologise.
Bob,
I hope you take the time to read this post and think about from the vein from which it is intended. You deeply offended a real good friend of mine that I raced with in unlimiteds and lurks on this board. He and his wife are not only Jewish but he lost a relative to the camps. Even though you are a Jew, the joke came off offensive to them. Since I post here and they do not they asked if I'd make mention.
I am not Jewish but I took the Youth group from my church a few years back to the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. We went and listened to three of the Holocaust survivors relay their adventures in captivity. We were riding down the elevator as we left with one of the men that was a survivor and had told his story, to a group of tenage kids he somehow got the feeling that upon looking around and seeing so many white faces it would be Ok to tell a joke about these two black guys. Well two of the kids had a black adopted step-brother, they were offended. I said in this forum I thought you were and still think since everybody doesn't "get" the joke you were innapropriate, but that is your perogative. some will think that you are an a$$ for posting what you did others will think I'm an A$$ for not letting it go. I am done with this particular subject so feel free to respond sarcastically, feel free to continue a rant, or just let it go. But on November 9th, don't whine that nobody understands the Jewish mindset and the tragedy involved. because to you it is a joke.
But since you suppose that you will apologize you can shove your apology up your piehole.
Wayne, I toned down this message as suggested.
