Re: Sea Fury crash @ Stead???

Wasn't a gear up landing. Gear was sheared off at impact.

Man, lucky it didn't flip over.

Ripped the gear off a Seafury? Wow.

        That's a total loss.

My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

Seriously, as long as the data plate is intact in can be fixed.

I've seen MUCH worse fly again in remarkably short time.

Ouch! Reminds me of Mr. Awesome. Glad no one was hurt.

Super glad the pilot was unhurt, and that nobody on the ground was hurt as well.

Just goes to show that they don't build them like they used to. Tough aircraft built to take the punishment of war.

Let’s just hope that’s the only accident that happens this year.

A short trip to Ione on a flatbed, and she'll be good as new in no time at all. The Sanders do amazing work.

Amen to that! We had WAAAAYYYYY over our quota of crashes/fatalities last year and are due for many safe years.

It'll take some long hours. The landing gear was torn out of it, so the wing center section will require extensive rework -- or replacement. More pics here:
