        THANKS AGAIN, Fence!!!

How did the Bear sound? Looks like Czech Mate's wing has been filled and profiled. Six days and counting for me!

Despite what some thought she sounded like today during engine runs... The Rare Bear blew her nose and then proved that the new ignition system worked very well... very well indeed!

The run today was to confirm, simply, that it would work. And work it did.

I had to leave at about 3:30 and they engine runs had been stopped due to a fuel leak. A decision to replace the fuel pump (leaking) and from what I've heard since from the field, further running, as of about a half hour ago, had been aborted while the leak was being fixed.

Big IF and I mean BIG IF on whether or not the sparker system was spot on or spot off and if a 40hr session to replace it would be necessary is OUT OF THE WAY!

I've heard this airplane start up after many engine work sessions and despite the sneezes, you could just hear how solid the spark and cylinder firing was..

Not home yet, these guys don't really kick into full speed until there's only 24 hours left. we're a long way from this!

              GO BEAR!

PS.. had a nice conversation with one of Mike Brown's crew... they are VERY supportive of wanting a healthy bear to eat on Sunday! Seems September Pops does not like gold unless it's served up by a strong running Rare Bear..

              Sportsmanship is running extremely strong!

              Why we love RENO??

There's just nothing I've ever experienced that's like it!

Go POPS, GO STREGA, GO BEAR, GO DAGO, GO SMOOTER SCOOTER, GO DOODOO!!!!

If I've left out any top contenders, it was only because I've got a lot to do and can't proof what I'm typing!!

VooDoo looks odd under the yellow canopy.

can't give you all of her yet, Cleatus and crew are still at work on the cowl.. paint has to dry and watching it dry is boring.. Rich (Cleatus) Hillis has the cowl panels painted white, as of about 2:00.. I think he said it would be dry enough for them to start masking and they would begin the final touches at about midnight. This man and his guys are COVERED in paint dust, tired as hell, beyond reasoning that they are too tired to continue.. "I'll have plenty of time to sleep after I'm dead" said Hillis to this reporter this afternoon..

OK.. Gotta figure out how to get MORE POWER (as in another power strip) so I can get all the stuff running in the same dimension to provide you with some PIXTURES from today..

PaintBoy and I spent the first hour of our day in American Air Racing's Photo Seneca shooting a REALLY colorful competitor and I'll share some as soon as I can get that other power strip online!

It's dope for sure. Spent a few minutes under it today. It's definitely cooler temp wise than anybody else's. Overheard Bob kicking around some ideas to make it easier to "build" next year.

Sparky looks great in the new paint huh.

I'm tryin' Peas. I'm out there slavin' away just to bring you guys some shots. You should feel bad for me. I'd be out there now but I'm tryin' to score some points with the wife this morning. She is pretty cool about me being a ramp bum so....

While the family slumbers though, I'll try to sling a few more up from yesterday.
