John:
I know there was some concern about high oil temps after the gear thing, and I think I saw the crew change the oil in Bear?
Did you have (greater than normal) concerns about the engine health Sunday? Not that it is ever a routine flight I am sure.
Were there any unusual indications? Pressure variations, temperature indications, vibrations? Does the plane have Oil In / Oil Out, and Front / Rear Bank indicators?
Or did it seem perfectly normal right up until it became perfectly aweful?
Any take-home lessons for the average pilot?
Aiming points for dead stick?
Adjust the prop for low-drag? (or did the prop control go away?).
