solid on the runway. The landing was pretty uneventful but getting out of the cockpit, with all of that oil, was extremely slippery and a fellow could have hurt himself.

A buddy of mine has broken his leg twice climbing out of airplanes. Yep!
Awesome job CJ on getting the Argonaut down in one piece. Like someone on hear already mentioned, when I first saw the flames coming from around the cowling the next thing I thought I was going to see was your parachute as you were bailing from her. She will fly again.
That was well covered, i dont think a tripod would've helped. The toughest part of video is stepping back off the zoom. I always want to zoom in closer and that's fine for short burst's. Even back off slightly makes a big difference.
Thanks for sharing

Nice video Holmes9. I tried a tripod at Reno years ago and found it very difficult to work with, you have to move from far left to far right and with some shots (like the mayday) you have to shoot almost straight up. I was tripping over the legs of the tripod and after loosing the planes completely I just gave up and went hand held. You could go the route I used with my other camera and get a shoulder pod and have a separate remote for the other hand. Keep up the good work and welcome to the Vimeo family.
CJ-
It's great reading what you went through. It was even better hearing it directly from you at Will's hangar today! I didn't understand everything you were talking about but my dad sure liked it! (by the way, he thinks you're right about what caused it)
It was nice meeting you and hope to see you again soon.

Yeah and I saw this airplane's first (July 23, 94) and was there in Reno and thank god it wasn't the last flight and most importantly, CJ is safe.
