Here it says plane went down in fiery crash.

I wasn't around in aviation back in 1995 when Giertz was flying.

I have one question about the gear layout.

I seemed to have tail wheel but the tail was very high.

How did they think they'd land the plane without going over the nose ?

Was that a design flaw or an intented result without any compromise...any comments to pour some light to this question ?

One thing that I figured was that if the engine of the VMaxPROBE seized...that big prop would cause the left wing to drop in that case...and Lars called that he'll come in for a landing since temps were high.

How was the engine cooled anyway..how was the inlet and outled...don't see'em in the pics.
