Very cool spinner! By coincidence, mine looks similar at the moment. The mill is at Performance Engines in La Verne. I doubt I'll be running it around the course at Reno, but I am expecting a very smooth experience. They do good work.

So how is Sparky coming along Spinner? I got my engine back but it's taking a while to get everything hooked back up. If I can only get my right side muffler shroud back, I'll be flying again soon.

I checked and your merlin puts the 170 over gross.

Hi Bill. Still waiting for Nixons guys to pick up the Merlin. Would haul it ourselves but it gets to be an insurance issue. Its getting late in the year and I'm gettin antsy about time frame. Jose tells me that a top oh takes about 3 weeks. If they pick it up next week we dont get it back until late March plus another week or so to re install....mid April. Bet its more like the end of May. Common over when you get the 170 finished. Have fun....steve

At least my engine is back from the shop. Still short a few parts, life the muffler shroud for the right side but it's getting getting closer to flying again. I'll stop by to see you when it is. Bill

Get your momo back from Nixon's yet? I'm gonne beat you back in the air if you're not careful. Rollison was supposed to come sign my logs today, but had to fly a load of boxes to Asia or somewhere. That gives you another week.

All kidding aside, I hope Sparky is flying again soon.

Hi Bill. Still waiting for a call from Nixon. I figure the thing should be just about finished by now. We had Jose re do the accessory drive group while the thing was appart. That includes starter, hyd and fuel pump drives, mag drive and cam tower drives. Also had some slop on the reduction gear he had to deal with. Soon I hope before it gets too hot in the hanger. A few pix in the disassembly area at Nixons. BTW....170 eng looks great. Nice job Bill. Common over.
