Anyone know how often this Sea Fury runs? Are there any rumors of this one racing, or was it just good hangar flying?

Hey TJ, here is a picture of her back in the target tug days http://www.thomasgenth.de/Seaf9.jpg

Also, here is the web page I found it on with a great history of the German target tug Fury’s…… Critical Mass is even in there as well.

                Re: Sea Fury

I'm going to guess there was a dataplate change here or at a minimum the fuselage was swapped with one from an FB.11. The space occupied by the "small jump seat" is occupied by a substantial piece of structure on the T.20. This structure is intended to compensate for the T.20 rear cockpit cutting a big hole in the production break between the cockpit and the mid section. The existing FB.11 jump seat conversions stop short of that production break for this reason. Why would you go to the trouble of cutting all that out and re-engineering the airframe when the T.20 already had a "jumpseat". I also don't see the former rear cockpit step location or evidence of a patch there. It's possible but this doesn't make sense to me. There are several other FB.11's on the registry carrying T.20 registrations, most of them are former Iraqi aircraft which makes this case even more puzzling. I'd be curious to learn more about this.

                  Re: Sea Fury

Here's some more info from the WIX board which points to it being constructed from several Iraqi FB.11's.

The Sander's site has a photo gallery up of the Furias move to Ione. Several questions have answers in these shots. http://www.sandersaircraft.com/aircraft_furias-move.asp

Going or coming? I was guessing they were spares that came with Furias.
