That's about the most beautiful looking warbird I have ever seen. How sad to think we'll have to travel to Europe to see it in the flesh.

Really love the Lightning's polished bare aluminum scheme of the prototype/first models. Not even my late pal- Bill Ross' beautifully-polished P-38 "Der Gabel-Schwantz Teufel" looked this beautiful!

A-2-A w/Glacier Girl & the Red Bull bird would've been almost too much for my eyes, ears & heart to handle!!! P-38's my all-time favorite airplane, bar-none!

Here's hoping N25Y returns to the good Ole' U.S.A. some day in the future to fly again...

Considering the plane's history, RB should have at least waited and flown it at Reno this Sept. before shipping it away.

Ah well. I don't like their drink anyway ...or their version of "air racing".

If it's been written, I've missed it. Any ball park estimates on what this total project was worth? What a beautiful job done by all. Two thumbs up.

From someone close to the project, I've heard that the total cost of the restoration, including acquisition of N25Y, was approximately $9 million USD.
