Hey, Hawkeye - Well, I know that when ya see cool people hangin' out, something good's bound to happen sooner or later, huh ? (Plus, it helps if they're photogenic & don't mind havin' they're picture portrait taken )

Big THX there- Chuckd, for the great picture background notes on the Federal Express B-727 & Grissom. Photo details really enhance the history of our picture moment in time. BTW- I have a vague recollection that a Fed-Ex big jet did a Stead p.m. fly-by at least on one other occasion, but I'm not certain about that.

Great photographs, Ken, & thank YOU for sharing. The RR auto is awesome, and I took an identical shot of GG & RB (my two favorite airplanes of all) - but yours is much better Let's see more of your fine work (+ hope you can scan some stuff from your archive photo goodie box to share w/us).

Anthony - I'd love to see THAT wonderful Big Iron gaggle captured on film. I remember seeing that famous formation too.

Bucky, I remember that. It was very cool. A nitpick, though. This was a rather unique period in FedEx history. The plane is in Federal Express livery but also wearing FEDEX on the tail, albeit in the old Federal Express font.

BTW, The plane is still registered to FedEx, one of about 80 727's still in the stable.

        As always, thanks for sharing!
