    Re: CZECH MATE

Someone please walk around that airplane taking pics so those of us not there can find the missing oil cooler inlet.

Too late for that....Sherm in the Yak and Stevo in Strega took off for Shafter just a little while ago.

        Ladies and Gents:

Thanks for all the kind words you have given me, the Lil' Mate, and the entire CM crew. The photos are awesome. Even loved the ribbing from good ole Matt Jackson. Yes, I deserved this jab by calling him up. But remember, he still owes us a bunch of Tommy burgers he promised us from a few years back. To his statement, I'd prefer he would say he saw my ass leaving a winery instead of a bar. I make wine and liquor is so passe these days.

Matt is a fine aviator, a friend, and a fierce competitor. For those who know me, I never saw a pylon I didn't hug, then again, never saw a dead-line that I didn't avoid either...

So, the question, "Did I cut a pylon to get those speeds?" Oh yeah, there was more than 1 lap timed. You will all see at Reno.

Again all, thanks for your loyalty. We have come a long way and have had a long learning curve with the 'mate. But don't fear, we are closing into gun range!

Sherman, great to see you here! You, the team and the airplane are definitely going to be thought about constantly over the next few months and at RENO! From your fellow racers as well as us fans!

A sidenote here.. to the board, I've never seen Sherman with anything other than a smile for everyone and anyone... Even when he faces disaster.. every time I've seen him, he's smiling and it's one of those genuine, happy inside smiles!

            Sherm,
As a once frequent flyer of N16797 I feel all airplanes that have felt your touch fly pretty straight. Good luck in Sept.
            Signed,

You better make sure your powder is dry for September. Nobody has won Reno at pylon school.

Me thinks that Sir Jackson has drawn a line in yon sand, daring the noble Lord Smoot to cross. Brave knights, mount your steeds and let the joust commence!
Forsake your red wine, witches, warlocks and bears so rare. THIS is the contest to watch!

I'm not sure on how many winery tours I've heard this saying: "How do you turn a large fortune into a small one? Open a winery."

Seems to apply to racing too.

From what i have heard they are much like a boat, except you do have a few grapes left over in the end.

                              Hey Matt:

Who said anything about winning? Thanks for thought, though. We're just trying to make those 4360 cu. in. of yours burn a lil more of that expensive VP gas, that's all. Do you really think a little Yak with an old guy and only 2800 cubes can beat you?

Don't forget the Tommy burgers this year!
