Help Needed - Speed Chart

Hey everyone,

Any one have a speed chart they can either tell me about or email me a copy? My kids went to PRS with me today and decided to time the racers, needless to say i was hit hard with "how fast is that and how fast is this" questions, mainly unlimited.

FYI, they got two great looking P-40's out there, Steve JR. took about 15 or so laps around the course in Strega (just getting the feel from the looks of it) and Mate ran a 1.06, was thinking that was probably 420 range????? Know it is not for time but hey it gives the kids something to do.

I do not have a speed chart but, you can use last years qualifing for reference

Jack Sweeney used to pass those out but Jack retired and hasnt been out here for a couple years. Shawn

Have them take a pocket calculator. If the Unlimited course is still 8.433 miles take 8.433 x 3600 and then divide by seconds. A 1:06 lap is 66 seconds so that would be 459.982 mph.

The unlimited course length is officially 8.4803 miles.........

NAG still puts out trhe speed sheet every year at theraces.
So far`as`I know, the course lengths have not changed this year. That is one of my chores while I am here at PRS - get the official word, and then print them up to distribute at the RNCAR. Come to the NAG Shack in the Pits.

459??? Dang that little guy was moving. Thanks everyone. Yea, thought about taking a calculator out there but given I am a finance guy I thought i would leave the math at home for the next few days.

I don't have any knowledge, but Strega most likely only has a stock motor in it. I would not look for blazing laps from Strega.
