T-28 Trojan

Hello one and all,

Does anyone know if the T-28 made it to the 300mph mark, or if come September they plan to bring it back and try? I hadn't heard one way or the other.

I'll post a pic or two once I find a decent shot.

He said he was racing in September, don't know about the speeds.

My boys and i were not timing him, but my gut tells me he was faster than Air Biscuit so i have to assume they made the 300 barrier. And if not, i am sure they could get a waiver given the extreme noise that plane makes going around the course

He's raced it at Reno a few times before, should be some records somewhere.

16 Sep 1995, Unlimited Heat 3-C, 283.733 mph. Qual speed was 295.883 mph.

Great shots everyone, it sort of makes me feel inadequate. This is about the best T-28 shot that I have.

I thought I'd seen that T28 someplace, like here in Napa. I've seen one out and about on a regular basis lately, I don't know if its the same plane. I saw it here when Aluminum Overcast was here, back then it had a few issues that seem to have been sorted out (notes left on blue tape saying missing this or that.)

It should make for a good bronze race, the battle for last place, Air Biscuit, the T28, and the P40s . Somebodys got to be last, might as well make a race out of it.
