  • Arlington, WA Fly-In and Airshow

What was formerly called the NWEAA Fly-in and Airshow opened yesterday. Bud Granley did his usual fantastic flying. The Warbird area is really cool, planes arriving ( one that has never been seen here) and more promised, including a P-51 and a few more surprises. Large encampment of Military Vehicle Collectors Club, featuring Medal of Honor recipients and forums by various aviators and ground pounders.
    Warbirds flying in are free.

Yes, he is here. Have seen the plane, but haven't seen him; but then I am usually flying by his spot on a golfcart, on a mission, and can't stop.
Spent time in the bar after dinner, group sing-a-long of You've Lost That Loving Feeling, and danced with Bud Granley before heading to bed.
Kinda sad to see the last day coming tomorrow. Tomorrow should be great, honoring Vets with over 100 vintage Military vehicles in the ground parade, while the Warbirds fly over in their own parade.
Same time and place next year, first full week after July 4th.

We had a blast at Arlington. It's so well organized and they take great care of the campers, whether you fly in or drive and camp.

Lots of neat stuff there, and great people. Loved that T6 alarm clock on Saturday morning

Sorry, no pics of the Thunder Mustang.... but here are a few other goodies for you. Weather was great on Friday (hot even! ) and the show was great. Seemed like fewer planes on the ground this year but still a great turn out.

Krazman - wish you had stopped by my registration desk at the Warbird section. Would have loved talking to you.

                ALL:
We had excellent forum speakers Fri, Sat and Sun AM. Good BBQ on Sat.
Great parade of Military vehicles on the ground Sat, not sure what was flying overhead cuz I was in a Command Car and couldn't see what went up.
We had about 40 Warbirds registered and more were expected to arrive for the max push on Sunday. Sadly, we were rained out and the show was finally cancelled at 1:30 PM. The field and grounds looked pretty sad at the end of the day when we tore down the palm trees and took down all our flags.
The show begins the first Wed after July 4th, so put us on your calendars for next year.

See you in Reno in a few weeks.

That was a shame the weather couldn't have waited another day. We ended up pulling out Sunday morning even though we had planned to stay til the end.
We had a great time though and will stay for at least three days again next year.
                  cya in Reno!
