Hey Lonnie.. who'd you fly with? I'll always remember many moons ago when I was there and John Parker was there with the "photo-seneca" and we orbited above the field for seemingly hours waiting for joinups..
That really is one of the best, little known (probably best that way) shows in the USA!
We just hopped onto a Twin Beech for its first flight/ride of the day. It was pretty cool. Though it was the first time in my adult life that I've flown in a private aircraft with a pilot that was unknown to me. But it was a blast, and it's not the first time I've gone for a ride at the AirFest.
RC Model Warbird Racing Demo at the Nevada County AirFest.
That's me holding the planes tail in the picture where Tom Dwelle is signing the RC Critical Mass. That planes owner was jazzed to get to meet the owner of the full scale version.
Here is a link to my album from the day.
When Tom took the model and started walking away, I was starting to think that he was going to take it home. He sure got a kick out of it, and it was great to see him sign it. Now we've got to talk about the landing...and I realize that you were trying to get the models back on the deck as quickly as possible...but...
The Black Widow flying demonstration was absolutely great!! And also the Yak...I didn't know you could do such things.
Thanks guys,
Yeah, I know the CM landing was a bit harsh at the end.
But I did have the shortest walk to retrieve my model.
So very true. I was bummed that you guys didn't get to finish the race, but at least we got to see a good sample. Now you need to build a couple of tankers so you can help out the folks at the CDF.
Does the group of flyers have a website? It would be worth the trip over to Sac to catch some more of those great models and incredible flying.
