  • F-35 T-bird (I wish...)

Popular Science has a slide show of an F-35 painted up in a Thunderbird scheme. Looks SWEET! Maybe someday...

Fail. Not even that, can make one of the ugliest planes ever designed look good.

F-35? Im sure the Obama administration is well on its way to putting a screeching halt to any or all projects concerning our millitary. Putting the lives of all Americans in danger. How many years of this BS do we have to put up with?

Supposedly by cutting the F-22 they can now buy more F-35's... we'll see.
I never understand the continueing effort to dump the A-10. Yea it's not flashy, but I've always thought it was the perfect plane for the job and would be like the C-130, nobody ever finding a really worthwhile replacement.

Thought this board is about air racing. Senator McCain agreed on the F-22. We will be perfectly safe. The USA has elections for President every four years.

The F-22 would look better in Thunderbird colors, plus it's more maneuverable.

Well, now that most of the top US fighters are going bye bye, I hope we get to see some of them with kelp running down the sides and numbers on the tails. One can dream...

                    Camouflage would work pretty good.

Depends on what you camoflage it to look like... Oh never mind.
Hmmm, Deepsky's got an idea. Ditch the L-39's (no offense to L-39 fans and racers) and get the surplus F-15's, F-16's and A-10's out there. For a deep pocket owner it could be quite a thrill! Naturally to really take advantage of abilities the course would have to extend out to Fernley but they wouldn't be out of site for long.
You think the neighbors complain NOW?

Sometimes beauty is seen in the performance, not in the portrait...

...just like many of the women I have known...

Anyway, I find the F-35 somewhat attractive in function AND form, especially after looking at photos of Boeing's F-32 alternative that we could have ended up with...

Maybe we just need more alcohol? "The planes all look prettier at closing time"?
I read this morning that the F-35 is having development issues and won't be in full service until around 2016. Hope the F-22's we do have are enough to do any job that presents itself. Of course we could just hold hands with our enemies, hug and sing cumbaya.
                            Sorry, not PC.
