I thought the GG crew had until Friday to enter a heat race, meaning they need the aircraft to be parked in the pits by tonight?

GG is a very very slim and beautiful racer, it´s sad it will not race this year. All the luck for 2010

Are they going to bring it over to the show anyway? Its sad to hear they won't be playing this year, but better safe than sorry. I think these guys need a big round of applause for getting so close in such a short amount of time.

I spoke with two members of the crew in the pits a couple of hours ago. They didn't quit working on her until 1AM then were back at it at 4AM. RARA extended the time to get her to Stead but they couldn't make it. I heard Jack Roush was down there consulting too. He left for his NASCAR race already so he's gone. I don't get it! Spend hundreds of thousands of dollars mobilizing many resources and not budget the time necessary to make the show!! I guess it was much more than just attaching the wings section to the fuselage. So how are they going to get her home? Remove the wings and truck her back?

Voodoo burned a piston. The team was done safety wiring the camshaft housing system but were playing with the timing. A crew member was rocking the prop and looking up from underneath with a flash light and I heard him discuss a number from a loose leaf binder with another crew member. 31?

Strega also was finished safety wiring the camshaft housing caps. I saw Tiger and Steve due an interview on channel 2.

I watched Mike Barrows lower the right side cylinder bank over the pistons very carefully on Ridge Runner III. Dan Martin was standing by.

Rare Bear finished 2nd in Silver race. Riff Raff out ran the field convincingly! Does Rare Bear have more to give? Probably! I heard she has one of Fifi's motors in her. It is not stock!!! The Sept Fury motor they had in her was trashed! Saw Mel hanging out in the new Bear Cave. Rod Lewis has leased one of the Classic Aviation hangers up near the static display area.

What's going to happen on Sunday is anyones' guess!

P.S. I crew member from Strega told me Steve ran that hot lap above 120 MAP! She still has more speed in her!!

Thanks Wayne but I'm sad to say I must decline the offer. I will not be back to Stead until Sunday. Someone else will have to pick up the slack...John!! lol!

Was watching channel 2 news and 6:30 and saw the tiger interview and they reported stevo just took strega up and had to mayday, they say he got it down ok with lots of oil down the witches sides.

These were taken after the flight. Doesn't look too bad down the sides. But they do have some of the cowling off. Maybe leaking down the belly?

I don't see a lot of dry-sweep or containers positioned to catch oil under the engine.

Holding my breath and keeping my fingers crossed.
Heading up there tomorrow morning.
