Dancing Bears have been a traditional form of entertainment in Russia for centuries...
Once again, 'hats-off' to John Moore's TEAM CZECH MATE & their Super Yakolev-Race #86 jockey- Sherman Smoot, for another outstanding series of showings in the Gold Unlimited Class events at Reno 2009 NCAR. Aside from Smooter's unfortunate pylon cuts, this old fighter pilot showed he still has some great- 'M-O-V-E-S', both on & off the racecourse!
Keeping up the- 'Spirit of Perestroika' - here's a couple Outer 4 Pylon shots showing Glasnost traditions still thrive in Reno, as we see Capt. Smoot & the nimble Russian Yak dancing WITH 'Bears' (albeit, the-'Grumman species') out on the track...

1. Sunday-9/20/09-UNLTD GOLD FINAL: Sherm's got Howard Pardue's rare Grumman X8F-1 Bearcat Race #14 square in his Yak gunsights, while overtaking Pardue during a lapping pass maneuver. CZECH MATE finished the Gold w/a solid 3rd-place behind 'The Great Bear': Race #77-RARE BEAR @ 464.312-av/mph.

3-4. Sunday-9/20/09-RARA Awards Banquet: Sherman accepts his 3rd-Place UNLTD Gold Championship trophy award from the pretty young 2010 Miss Reno Rodeo Queen- Ms. Lauren Neil & was the only recipient of the night to demonstrate a proper gentleman's- 'Suave Move', for the crowd.
