This has been quite difficult for me, as Gary was a good friend. It's been painful watching as he lost his way after losing his medical and his license.

Memorial Service for Gary Austin Announced

We have received a large amount of correspondence about Gary in the past 36 hours and I wanted to announce the following plans:

At 1200 hours on Fri., Nov. 6, 2009, at CAF Headquarters there will be a memorial service celebrating the life of Gary Austin. The ceremony will be conducted in the hangar portion of the George H.W. and Barbara Bush Commemorative Center and will last approximately one hour.

The street address is 9600 Wright Drive, Midland, Texas 79706. Anyone flying their personal or CAF aircraft in to attend should contact Bob Stenevik at (817) 705-5817.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.


On a personal note if anyone is going to be going please take lots of photos and video for us who can't make it to Midland.
