Hey All,
May be old news (is that an oxymoron?) to many of you but wanted to pass it along just in case. I’ve finally gotten around to posting some of my work on the web. Whew…! After some review, I went with www.smugmug.com/
You can check out my work at:
It’s still a work in progress but it’ll give you a sense of things.
They offer a ton of options for your site, many options for your galleries, unlimited uploads to redundant off-site servers, and on top of that their service/support has been incredible. Besides that, their sense of humor is a pleasant relief from the corporate look and feel.
If you opt for the “Pro” series it’s $149/year complete. If you want a unique URL, they go thru www.godaddy.com which will give you a domain for $35 for three years, if I recall correctly. So, for less than $200 initial investment, you’re up and running. The Pro series includes, among other cool features, watermarking of all images, right-click protection, and purchase and printing options thru PayPal, and on and on. Additionally, the unlimited uploads to redundant servers is a great option for backing up your work offsite.
I know others who have gone with these guys and they highly recommend them, as I do. So, give them a look-see. Always nice to find stuff that works and pass it along to those of us who spend so much time behind the lens.
Now, back to culling through the 46,000+ images in my digital library. If you dont' hear from again soon, you know what I'm up to.
Cheers Everyone,
Owen
