Does anybody know of a turbine plane that looks exactly like a P-51??? Same size as one, same shape, the only thing that made me think it was customized was that you could see the wheels underneath the plane unlike the P-51 where the wheels are hidden...

Well, things are going to happen in rapid succession now... I'm going to do a final database backup at 2:30PM CST today. After the vBulletin team gets it - the new site should be operational "with all posts" soon thereafter. Then following a series of checks, and if all goes well, I'll post a link to the new forums here soon.

Re: Turbine P-51???
I wonder what the performance numbers are on that thing compared to a Falconer powered bird? It would be cool to cut the scoop off of it and go all the way with a "Thunder Enforcer" look.

Another vote that the "Grand-51" is the aircraft you're wondering about...which is coincidental considering your login name on the board.Last edited by Randy Haskin; 04-25-2010, 03:48 AM.

Re: Turbine P-51???
All of this brings up something else... a while back there was some talk that Murdo Cameron was working on an all composite P-51 replica that he planned on racing at Reno (it's still on the website too), has anything else been released about this endeavor?

Re: Turbine P-51???
We saw one fly over so it was probably the Grand P-51. It was the same size as a regular P-51. The only thing is like I said is that I could see the wheels and tires when they were retracted. Do you understand what I mean?Reno from '99 to '23
