Posts made past 02:30PM 12/30/24 won't be on the new site!

We are in the final stages of resolving the issues with the forums move to the new location. After talking with tech support, the only solution was to send him a copy of all the images. This will take time - but we know the fix SO it's only a matter of time now.

Thanks again for your patience,

    Re: Get Well, Baby Goss...

    Cindy,
Thank you for the update. I have been holding all of us in my heart and picturing a focused Randy going above and beyond all that those therapists ask him to do...oxygen really makes all the difference...pump on, Randy's heart! There are substances that open heart surgery releases into the body...especially if one is on the heart/lung machine for a long time...that can effect short term memory and often hang a dark depression over one's spirits. This is transitory and that is the key to getting through it...nothing lasts forever and amazingly, out of the blue, spirits lift and the funk is just a receding memory. No one in the medical community passes this on to the heart patient...i think that is odd since just knowing that this is a normal part of recovery and it really will pass keeps that spark of hope alive. If Randy gets confused or bleak pass this on to him, will you? Thank you again for the updates!!!
    Hugs...Love...looking forward to Reno 2011!

Just like Cindy said, Randy is in recovery and doing well despite what he's gone through. The doctors needed to fix one heart valve that was just "flapping" (Mitral Valve Prolaps) and letting good blood mix with the bad blood. Randy's been kinda out of breath for quite awhile, and that's most likely the culprit. However, the valve that had to be replaced was compleatly exploded, and had most likely been that way since his stroke. It was replaced with a cow valve. Randy is currently stable, and the Doctors did a great job, only Brent Heisey could have done better! Randy is a very strong individual, obviously! But just know that your Prayers are working!! Please keep them up! He will be in ICU for a few more days, and is quite a bit less hairy! (not so ZZ Top) Please continue to Pray for Randy, he's had a very trying few months, to say the least! I can't say that I would survive the way he's had. Please keep the good thoughts coming. He's in a new hospital, and I'll post the address as soon as I can (with his room number).

          From Sandra...Keep those prayers coming...
Things have taken a turn for the worse and we need emergency prayers.
Randy has had 2 seizures in the past hour and what looks like another
stroke. I just can't believe this. He has been through so much. We need a miracle.

                The latest from Sandra...

Randy was extubated around 6:00 a.m. He is using his left side today. Either there was no stroke, it was a mild one, or it further damaged his right side. We don't know which yet. They will repeat the CT today but strokes can take several days to show up. They put him on seizure meds and he hasn't had any more seizures.... It was a rough night. Feeling more hopeful today. Keep praying

                  Another FB post from Sandra....

Spent some time with Randy tonight. He is hanging in there. He said he
thought he was going to die last night but he wanted to live. He is
still willing to fight and that is good. His left side seems to be fine
and his right doesn't appear to be worse. He was in A LOT of pain
...tonight. I had to fight to get him pain meds. Right now I feel hopeful that he will get through this...one day at a time.

Hopefully he is doing much better and I'll see him on the ramp next week?!

                      Re: Get Well, Baby Goss...

                      As of Aug 30th...

Randy was transferred back to Courtyard Convalescent tonight. He is doing pretty well considering his surgery was just a week ago today. Now he needs to focus on recovery and try real hard not to crack his chest back open. That means therapy is going to be tricky. He is scared he will lose what he has accomplished so far. Please pray he won't.

Well, not the news I was hoping to hear.
Tell Randy to hang in there and don't over-do it.

Best wishes for a safe recovery.
